EYE, SPI —
I live among the spiders,
sometimes they plot to kill.
(Forgive them, they’re carnivorous,
that one there’s name is Bill).
We’re here down in the basement,
they maybe hear me think.
All I hear are their little feet
down there behind the sink,
and

I am not alone -
no.
The spiders share my home.
They do wish to devour us.
(Forgive them, they’re carnivorous).
INCANTATIONS FOR CHILDREN
GRATITUDE
In the East, the sun will rise,
And pour this world into our eyes,
With open hearts and minds we say,
“Good morning, Sun, thanks for this day.”
LOVE
Draw from the eternal well,
And fill yourself with Love,
Let it overflow,
Then let it go,
There will always be enough.
CONNECTION
The Universe, it moves in and through me,
Whispering it’s songs softly to me,
Light and dark combine, form a pattern,
Connecting me to you.
(Thank you for this day.)
MEDITATION
I pick up pebbles,
like thoughts —
fingers contemplating
round and pointed,
rough and smooth —
then I let them fall again to free my hands.
